How is it that a haircut makes your child age exactly 5 years? Someone please explain this mysterious scientific law to me, because it blows my mind every time. Since we haven’t been able to use our kitchen, we’ve decided it would be a good time to try out a Paleo diet. How are we doing? Good?I remember when I was a kid our family had in our possession a big moving box maybe once or twice and it was a BIG deal. Luke, on the other hand, is all too familiar with moving boxes and they are starting to lose their luster. Power tools, however, have not lost their luster. Luke was super helpful putting up shelving in his room this weekend. So helpful, in fact, we would love to offer his handyman services to any interested parties for free this weekend. He just requires a few diaper changes, goldfish snacks and Daniel the Tiger playing in the background.Luke starts daycare in a few weeks and his teacher asked us to create a ‘family book’. I have asked parents to complete nearly this exact project before. I can’t wrap my mind around the fact that I am the parent and not the teacher in this context. It just doesn’t make any sense to my brain. Very official proof that I do in fact have a job. I’ve never had an I.D. badge and I think it’s pretty nifty. For some reason it makes me feel like a park ranger, which I really, really like. I’ll leave you with these Zinnias on our beautiful butcher block island. It’s my favorite thing in our house right now. Reminds me a little of my mom’s kitchen and a little of the woods.
